Give Mom the Gift of Health!

This Mother’s Day, Prove to Your Mom That You Love Her!

Sure, you can take Mom out for brunch. You can buy her flowers or chocolate. A spa day is always great. But why not tell your mom how much you really love her? Help her to be as healthy as possible, so she can live a long, active fulfilling life!

Love Yourself — Only Good Will Come of It!

At some point in your life you probably heard or maybe even said something like this, “She thinks she’s so good!” And you or your friends probably meant it as an insult. But why is that an insult? I would hope that, whoever she is, she does think she’s good. I hope she is filled with self-confidence, self-love and a sense of self-worth, because that means she will likely follow her dreams, make them happen, and accomplish things.

    Breaking Bad… Habits

The word “habit” doesn’t really begin to cover how difficult it can be to change. That word makes it sound easy, like it’s just a matter of choosing not to do something negative in order to stop doing it. Which is sort of true. It is a matter of choosing not to do that negative action. Simple! But not easy.

Getting Fit When Life Gets in the Way

“I was doing so well on my diet, and then life got in the way, and I’ve gained back every pound.”

“I was going to the gym regularly, and I could feel myself getting in better shape, and then life got in the way, and I’m back where I started.”

Chances are, you have heard someone say something like this at some point. If you’ve lost and gained weight or if you’ve gone on and off exercise programs, then you may have said it yourself.

Time for You to Start Modeling

No, I don’t mean posing for photographs or walking the catwalk. I mean it’s time for you to start acting like those you admire — in other words, modeling your behavior after the people who are what you want to be.

    Keep Learning for Lifelong Success

Kids are pretty malleable. In just a couple of years they learn how to move, crawl, walk, run, feed themselves, speak … they even learn about the culture they live in, what’s expected of them and how to manipulate some situations to their benefit. They are like sponges for information, and they are anxious to learn how to do whatever new activities they can find.

5 Ways to Increase Your Confidence and Achieve Success

It’s a vicious circle. You lack success in some area, and that affects your self-confidence. Your lowered self-confidence means you are less likely to achieve success, and thus it continues.

This can be especially devastating when you are trying to lose weight. First, being overweight makes you more likely to have confidence issues. And chances are you’ve tried to lose weight before, perhaps dozens of times. Since you’re trying again, you may already feel like a failure.

    Keep It Going

People often have ideas about exercise similar to common ideas about diet: if you want to lose weight you exercise for a while and then when you lose weight you can stop.

That’s fine if you want to spend your life yo-yoing up and down in your weight, and if you want your health to never be as good as it could and should be. Is that really what you want?

    You Need Caring Too!

Women in particular have a very hard time putting themselves first. When they look at their days, they slot in time for work, for cooking, time to clean the house, time to drive the kids to soccer, basketball and dance, time to help with homework and time to chill with their husbands. Whew! That’s a lot! But there’s someone missing here. Where is the time to look after themselves?

When Things Don’t Go According to Plan

When you are on a weight-loss program, you have to plan. As the old saying goes: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. When you are determined to lose weight you have to plan, that’s for sure. You know exactly what you’re eating in exactly what proportions for each meal and snack. You make sure you’ve done your shopping so you don’t get caught without what you need, and you have your meals prepared ahead of time. You make sure you have your gym bag with you when you go to work so you have no excuse not to go to the gym at your scheduled time.
